Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

Since it opened to the public in 1959, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum building has provoked curiosity, admiration, exaltation, and even scorn. Every year, over one million visitors come not only to view world-class art, but to experience first-hand the landmark building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. On the occasion of the museum's 50th Anniversary, we have developed the Guggenheim Architecture Tour. In this video available for download, you'll see unique and historic images, and hear artists, architects, curators, and historians describe why Wright's building elicits such powerful reactions and what makes it—in the eyes of many—an architectural masterpiece.
